A young couple; one grew up in nature, the other loves a clean house.
What I wanted for them was a cosy nest where they could rest in a cocoon bedroom, spend their day in a luminous living and dining area.
A place to read was mandatory, as she likes to spend her free time enjoying a good book, which is why I added this nook in the bedroom.
As they travel frequently, I also wanted to create a boutique-like atmosphere throughout the entire apartment.
I also modified the plan to improve the flow - they have different schedules, and it was essential to make their lives easier.
In the original plan, the path of walk was going through the dining room, hence I decided they could use a proper hallway; I added a full glass wall to maintain the natural light.
The living room is now cozily separated, with no light or reflection coming into the TV.
As they both needed a quiet life, I modified two other major things: the wardrobe is no longer in the bedroom - she can easily go and change in the other part of the house while he is still sleeping.
And I closed the kitchen, so that he can cook while she sleeps. Another benefit from this is that their cat can be totally blocked from entering this room.
From the new bedroom layout, they benefit of a better view to the TV, with no reflection from the window.
And this adds up to the fact that I could add a shower in the master bathroom, for a faster getting ready.
The home office has a desk right next to the door, conviniently placed so no one can see in the monitor.
There’s also a bed for guests.
In the living&dining room I added the big bookcase, for all her books and treaties.
The smaller hallway has a full wardrobe that continues into the laundry room; it is intended to be used for cleaning supplies, towels, maybe clothes, and cat accessories.
The Master Bedroom - Beautiful sight when you enter the room, beautiful sight when you lay in bed.
Different nightstand for him
A drawer buffet for pyjamas and other small bedroom accessories.
The big bookcase holding treaties, books, documents. Closed doors to keep the dust away - easier cleaning.
4 person dining room, extendable to up to 8 people. Combining marble and darker wood shade.
A rich and puffy sofa, extendable for emergencies; great natural material suitable for cats.
No rug in the dining area - easier cleaning. TV "hidden" - no sunlight reflection -> better watching experience. All in all, better flow in the house.
Plaster walls for a sepia vibe. Small round coffee table for a great tea/coffee.
Boutique style bathroom, with bathroom wallpaper, subway tiles and mosaic on the floor.
A 25-cm wide closet for office accessories, with clothed doors; black accent wall that is completed by a black floor trim.
Adjusting desk for an ergonomic experience. The guest bed is placed in the other part of the room, for a clearer area separation.
