The Blue Office Attic
A mother wanted her own place to work from home. The challenge was that the floor was not very sturdy, hence we couldn’t place very heavy object; another challenge was the small window that actually oversaw another room, so the only natural light was coming from the outside door, which was also a bit opaque. Taking into consideration the sun and its trajectory, I advised her that the best way to place the desk was perpendicular to the door wall.
The third challenge was the wall heater that wasn’t centered, and it occupied a pretty good amount of space. We decided that later they could build a mask for it.
She also wanted a small reading corner, where her kids could come and stay with her if they wanted to. We repurposed an old Kallax.
